The latest tariffs imposed by the US on Chinese goods, which can reach as high as 245%, are expected to lead to higher prices, reduced consumer demand, and potential recession.
Consumers are DOOM SPENDING, hoarding in some cases and stocking up.
The tariffs are especially hurting consumer goods as supply chains are vast and complex, and not easily changed.
As a result, consumer confidence has plummeted to its second-lowest level since 1952, and inflation expectations have surged to 6.7%, the highest level since 1981.
Retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, and Steve Madden are struggling to cope with the tariffs, with some canceling orders, renegotiating with suppliers, or raising prices.
